Do you want to go to the movies?
What? “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” opens at the end of November in movie theaters worldwide, and River Hills UMC wants to invite you to see it with us two days before it opens! Due to generous gifts from our members, we purchased all the seats in one of the theaters so our neighborhood could see the movie together.
When? Wednesday, November 20th at 7:15pm
Where? At the CMX Theatres next to the Burnsville Center.
Why? It’s simple. We want to be a good neighbor. Sometimes that means inviting your neighbors to see a movie. No expectation that you come to our “house” or that we’ll show up at yours. No surprise sermon or sales pitch. No catches. No gimmicks. We just want to invite you to the movies. It is a great story about the difference Fred Rogers (of Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood) made in the life of Esquire Magazine writer, Tom Junod, overcoming cynicism with lessons in kindness, love and forgiveness. Faith does play a role, but it’s more about making the most of life than about miracles. Heads up! It may not be suitable for our youngest neighbors as some of the themes are more mature and might be difficult to relate to if you’re not in middle school yet, but it’s a great story and we’d like you to come see it.
Who? The first 200 people to inquire from the River Hills Neighborhood will get tickets.
How? Beginning November 10th, email us at ABeautifulDay@RiverHillsUMC.org or leave a message at 952-890-2515. Give us your name, address and the number of tickets you’d like to receive. Ask for what you need, but ticket requests will be limited to four per household. Tickets will be mailed out. Every one attending must have a ticket. Show up for the movie! The only money you will need is if you want to buy refreshments!
