Denise Poetter, RHUMC’s Administrative Assistant, recently was voted in to the position of President of the local MN Chapter of PAUMCS (Professional Administrators of the United Methodist Church Connectional Structure). Denise is excited about this new opportunity to serve the local chapter in this capacity. “I have a few ideas and, with the help of the others on the Executive Committee, I hope to see those ideas flourish and our local chapter grow.”
PAUMCS recently changed its name at the National PAUMCS Conference this past May. The local chapter organization is open to all employees and volunteers who are in ministry in a local UM Church or conference office. The organization recognizes the importance of church office workers. PAUMCS lends mutual support and provides opportunities for continuing education and spiritual growth and strives for recognition of the full value of those in service of the United Methodist Church.
The MN Chapter is affiliated with National PAUMCS, which was organized in 1982. The General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA) is the approved sponsor following legislation adopted at the 1988 General Conference of the UMC and stated in the Book of Discipline. The MN Chapter began in April 1990.
