A slight chill is in the air. The leaves are turning color and the days are getting shorter. Christmas is not far around the corner! River Hills UMC will begin collecting shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child in November so the boxes of gifts can be shipped world-wide in time for Christmas. Empty shoeboxes, lists of suggested gifts to include in your shoebox, and labels will be available in the narthex Nov. 5 through Dec. 3. All boxes must be received by Dec. 6 in order to be shipped. In addition to the congrega-tional boxes, we are expanding our Operation Christmas Child donations to include Packing Parties for our kids. The Missions Committee is partnering with our children’s and youth ministries to provide an opportunity for every child to pack an Operations Christmas Child box. We hope to greatly increase the number of boxes River Hills collects. If you have donations of small toys or other items for our packing party boxes, please leave them in the collection bins in the Narthex. Interested in shopping for supplies to put into the boxes?
