Virtual Worship FAQs
Here are some tips for worshiping with us online. Let us know if you have questions.
We hope you can join us for virtual worship! You can join through Facebook Live, YouTube Live Stream, or by calling in. Read through the FAQs below to learn more. You can click here to watch a video tutorial for watching Facebook Live services. If you have any additional questions, please email us at riverhills@riverhillsumc.org.
When is the worship service?
We have Sunday worship at 10:00am each week. Funerals and other special services are also streamed.
How can I watch services online?
You can watch any of our services via Facebook Live or YouTube Live Stream. (Note: This YouTube link will show an error message if there is not a service currently streaming live.) If you’d like to watch past services on YouTube, click here. Both of these options will have video and sound. You don’t need to have an account for either option, but you do need an internet connection.
Is there a way to join worship without the internet?
You can also join Sunday morning worship service by calling in. Call 1-877-870-4455 (toll free) to listen. No additional codes are needed. You can even request a call back when it’s time to worship!
What if I’m not available on Sunday morning? Can I watch the services another time?
Yes! All live-streamed services will continue to be available on Facebook and YouTube after they are finished. Unfortunately, there is no call-in option available other than during the service times.
How do I join services on Facebook Live?
Go to the River Hills United Methodist Church Facebook page. The videos should show up right on the main page, or you can go to the “Videos” tab to see all of the videos. Be sure to “Like” our page to stay up to date on what’s happening at River Hills! You can click here to watch a video tutorial for watching Facebook Live services.
Do I need to have a Facebook account to watch the Facebook Live videos?
No. Just go to the River Hills United Methodist Church Facebook page (www.facebook.com/RiverHillsUMC) to tune in. You can click here to watch a video tutorial for watching Facebook Live services.
How do I join services on YouTube Live Stream?
Click here to tune into our Live Stream for services currently happening live. You will get an error message on that page unless a Live Stream is currently taking place. Click here for past videos.
What should I do if there is a glitch or delay when I’m watching a service live?
Unfortunately, uploading live videos doesn’t always go as smoothly as we would like. If you’re experiencing any issues, try refreshing the page or waiting for a few minutes to see if it gets fixed. If problems persist, you can always go back later after it has completely uploaded. It will run much smoother at that point. No need to comment; we have a team that works hard to keep track of the issues and does their best to fix them as soon as they can.
Any tips for a smooth call-in experience?
Check the volume on your phone, especially if you’re having a hard time hearing the service. You also may want to mute your phone – that can help cut back on echoing.
Is there a way to display the services on my TV so my family can watch together?
You can use either Chromecast or AirPlay to display the services on your TV when watching through Facebook or YouTube. Just start the video on either your phone or computer and click the Chromecast or AirPlay symbol (see picture below). If you don’t have either of those options, you can also connect many laptops to your TV with an HDMI cord.
