Celebrating worship at 9:00 a.m. is an easy choice if you like singing from the hymnal, sharing in unison prayers, enjoying a church choir, and listening to a well played organ or grand piano! While we don’t practice what some would understand as a “high” liturgy (very scripted, use of incense and bells, multiple scripture readings, highly predictable, classical), our traditional service provides an orderly flow that leans on music that would be considered more traditional in its style and content, and provides the congregation with opportunities to be involved beyond the music by reading certain elements together.
A few less traditional elements might be the opportunity for the children to come forward for a special message and that our lead pastor does not preach from a pulpit and rarely uses notes.
Do you think you might enjoy worship being led by a Praise Band? Join us at 11:05 a.m. on Sunday mornings. While the mix of musicians and singers changes from week to week, the group is often four vocalists, two guitars, a bass guitar, a drum set, additional percussion, and one or two keyboards. Almost every Sunday, worship begins with a Welcome, two Opening Songs led by the Praise Team with words projected on the screen, a Time of Prayer, a Children’s Message, Scripture, Message, Offering and a Closing song. The music is upbeat and reflective. The message is delivered from the heart. The congregation is sent back into the world to make a difference.
Children are Welcome!
Children are always welcome and encouraged to be a part of worship. Other options are available if the children (or their parents) would rather not be in worship.
Little Blessings Nursery: A professionally staffed nursery is available for our littlest ones (age birth through 2 years old). Volunteers and/or staff (qualified and with background checks) care for the littlest children during both worship services and the education/fellowship hour. It is located outside of the sanctuary through left rear door.
Children’s Church: Designed for Children age 3–grade 1. Children stay for the first part of worship. Following Children Message they can choose to go with volunteers and/or staff for a time to continue worship at a more age appropriate level. This is available from September through May at both the 9:00 and 11:05 a.m. Sunday morning worship services, and at the 11:05 a.m. service during the summer.
Activity Bags: Please find the kiosk with our activity bags right outside the sanctuary for all children who may need other activities to keep them engaged during worship.
